For 30 years, Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern NSW has been keeping families with a sick child together when they need it most.
And with you by our side, we’ll be there for families for another 30 years.
Since the doors of our Ronald McDonald House in Newcastle first swung open in April 1991, families with a seriously ill or injured child have found a place to call home during some of their darkest days. Thousands of feet have walked the corridors of the House, back and forth from the hospital to the sanctuary of the House and the comfort of their room – day and night.
Doors and arms have been opened and outstretched, welcoming smiles and words providing calm in the chaos. Cups of tea and cake shared by parents who find themselves in similar situations, relieved to know they aren’t alone.
Unique experiences shared together at Ronald McDonald House.
As the need for families with a seriously ill or injured child grew, and with the huge hearts and love of the community, so too did the support we were able to provide.
The addition of Family Rooms in Newcastle and Gosford, another House in Tamworth – built in just a few days, the Family Retreat in Forster, and the Learning Program over the last 30 years have rounded out the family centred care we are able to provide with the generous support of the community.
Like with any house, room, holiday retreat, or educational program, after 30 years things need to be updated, maintained and improved.
Every day of every month for the past 30 years, Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern NSW has provided a “home away from home” for families in need.
You can be by their side, every day of every month.
As little as 75 cents a day can help ensure a seriously ill child will have their family close by when they need them the most. On average it costs $135 to support a family for one night.
Please become a monthly donor to help sick kids and their families get through the toughest time, or make an urgent donation today.
You’ll be giving seriously ill children the chance to be together with their family.
Thank you.
