Building a Bigger Heart to support more sick kids and their families
Each year, more families with a seriously ill or injured child reach out to Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern NSW to keep them together and close to the vital medical care they need - but demand is beyond their capacity.That's why, our McDonald's restaurant is raising vital funds as part of the Building a Bigger Heart initiative - supporting the expansion of Ronald McDonald House in Newcastle and working to ensure no family in need is turned away.
With the addition of 11 new, self-contained family units, RMHC Northern NSW is working to keep more ill and injured kids and their families together and close to care when they need it most.

Ever since I was little, I’ve dreamed of working at Macca’s, and now that I get to do it at the Bennett’s Green store, it honestly feels like everything has come full circle. I remember going in as a kid, staring up at the counter, watching the team work with such speed, energy, and teamwork—it was like magic to me. I used to picture myself in the uniform, part of that world, and now that I’m actually here, it means the absolute world. Bennett’s Green isn’t just where I work—it’s where I’ve found purpose. The team feels like family, the energy is real, and every shift teaches me something new. But for me, this isn’t just a job. This is the beginning of everything. I’m going to build my life here. I’m going to climb the ladder—step by step—from crew member to shift supervisor, to manager, and one day… CEO. That’s the goal, and I’m serious about it. I’ve never been more passionate about something in my life. I want to grow with Macca’s, give back to the company that gave me my start, and lead it into the future with heart and purpose. And when I get there—when I finally make it to the top—you can bet I’ll bring back the McRib. Because I know I’m not the only one who misses it, and I’ll do it for all of us.
