This May, we proudly celebrate the 10th anniversary of our partnership with the Club Taree Community Team, a group whose unwavering dedication has become a cornerstone of the Mid North Coast community. When Paul Allan, now CEO, introduced this initiative, he couldn’t have imagined the profound impact it would have on both Club Taree and the families we serve across the Mid North Coast and beyond.
Le Tour de Taree, their flagship fundraising and community engagement event, emerged from the need to replace a local fundraiser for RMHC Northern NSW that couldn’t proceed in 2015. Many of their team members have personal connections to RMHC Northern NSW, and their passion to support the charity drove them to create this event, raising vital funds and deepening their bond with the community.
Since its inception, Le Tour de Taree has raised over $397,273, providing 2,942 nights of safe accommodation for families while their children receive hospital care. But their support doesn’t stop there. The Club Taree team regularly volunteer and cook meals for families staying at the Family Retreat in Forster. Paul Allan also recently took part in the CEO Walk In My Shoes event, experiencing firsthand the impact of Ronald McDonald House in Newcastle.
Club Taree’s commitment to making a difference in their community has not gone unnoticed. They’ve proudly received several ClubsNSW awards, including the Heart of the Community Award, recognising their outstanding contributions.
We extend our immense gratitude to the Club Taree Community Team, members, and patrons for their continued support of Le Tour de Taree and our cause. Here’s to many more years of making a positive impact for families with sick kids together!
